Screen Hunter Central Coast

The aim of Screen Hunter Central Coast is to capitalise on the unique qualities of our regions by increasing film production and fostering and driving development of a creative and sustainable film industry in the Hunter and Central Coast. Staffed by industry professionals, the Office actively promotes its breathtaking locations to film makers and is a one-stop-shop for filming approvals, location scouting assistance, sourcing of local crew, services and support.  As a result they have secured films such as Superman Returns, Matrix Reloaded, Wolverine and Tomorrow When the War Began as well as thousands of local, national and international television commercials, documentaries, programs and music videos for our regions.

Regional Development Australia (RDA Hunter)

RDA Hunter is part of an initiative between the NSW Government and the Australian Government established to enhance the growth and development of the Hunter Region.Through partnerships between governments and the community, RDA Hunter supports higher levels of education to produce greater skills in the workforce encouraging diversification and investment in infrastructure that promotes innovation and that in turn provides wider social inclusion.

Hunter Wetlands Centre

Located west of Newcastle and is a 10 minute walk from Sandgate Railway Station. It is situated on 45ha of rehabilitated wetland on the edge of Hexham Swamp. More than 170 species of birds have been recorded here, with over 30 of those breeding on the site. During summer months a colony of Egrets nest in the Paperbark Trees in one of the shallow ponds.
